This weekend at Green Party of England and Wales I was pleased to meet up with Linda Outbridge and Amanda Onwuemene at the Green Party Woman Group Meeting.
Linda gave a talk about her role as a Greenham Common peace protester and how Welsh women marched to Greenham Common to demand that the military base was closed.
Amanda Onwuemene, the Green Party Spokesperson for Policing and Domestic Violence discussed sexual violence against women and girls. Astonishingly, out of all the rape cases reported last year in England and Wales to the police, less that 2% resulted in a successful prosecution.
It is good to be able to attend conference and represent Wales in conference. We also discussed the DARC development, which is planned for Pembrokeshire. Concerns have been raised about the effects this will have on our nation’s peace, security and defence.
